There could be many approaches to work with our young people. Tasks of the international volunteer could be to talk to the teenagers, help them with easy work, especially when using the computers (e.g. writing CVs, job applications,…) or to assist them in training school subjects (e.g. maths, communication). Furthermore the volunteer could accompany the youngsters, in particular if they are working outside, and when they go on excursions or if they go to a job interview. As most of the teenagers have some problems in integrate themselves in a social environment, the volunteer could be a helping hand in learning matters like these. On a social basis the volunteers could learn to be a kind mediator if conflicts between group members occur and search for a persons they can rely on. They have the chance to cook with the participants. If the volunteer has an awareness for gender problems the volunteer is welcome to implement such issues in her/his daily work as well.
Volunteer Profile: We are searching for a person who is open, friendly and interested to communicate and listen to our participants. The volunteer should be interested in working with young people and social work. Mechanical skills or an apprenticeship as skilled worker would be appreciated cause the project offers skilled manual work for the participants. There are no considerations related to gender or religion. Basic German skills would be great as our participants can`t speak English.
