From 1 to 4 April 2010 Dr. Tigran Matosyan, Research Fellow of the Center for Civilization and Cultural Studies, Yerevan State University and a member of ARMACAD participated in the spring session of the HESP ReSET project “European Visions and Divisions: Comparative Studies for Advances in Teachin Sociology” organized by National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev, Sociology Faculty (Kyiv, Ukraine). The spring session was focused on the topic of teaching comparative research method and the ways of integrating the European dimension into sociological curriculum.
The spring session included a set of lecture-colloqiums (Olga Kutsenko’s “Eastern Europe under system transformations: trends and social outcomes”, Claire Wallace’s “Evaluating the quality of society in European countries”, Evgeniy Golovaha’s “Cross-Cultural Comparison of European Post-Communist Societies”, Andrii Gorbachyk’s “Methods for comparative analysis of quantitative data”, to name a few), working group discussions and participants’ presentations of their outlines of the research papers for the Sourcebook to be published within the frames of the project.
