United World Colleges Scholarships for Armenian Students (age 16-18)
Applications are invited from Armenian nationals for entry to the 2-year UWC co-educational, residential programme leading to the International Baccalaureate diploma. Scholarships are available, and entry is highly competitive. Selection is based on intellectual ability, richness of character, and a demonstrated commitment to the values of the UWC movement.
Travel Grants for the Abbasi Program’s 2012-13 Annual Conference at Stanford University
The Sohaib and Sara Abbasi Program in Islamic Studies at Stanford University invites applications from advanced graduate students and postdoctoral fellows based in the United States for traveling to its 2012-13 Conference on Image as Animation: Mysticism, Magic, and Poetry in Byzantine Christian and Islamic Religious Experience. Grants will cover travel and lodging expenses. Recipients will not present papers, but are expected to actively contribute to the conference discussions.
The 2nd International Conference – Holocaust Museums and Memorial Places in Post-communist Countries: Challenges and Opportunities
The conference will emphasize importance of the Holocaust remembrance in small European countries with overlapping memories. It will also focus on hidden resources for Holocaust remembrance and research in these countries, on the peculiarities of the Holocaust education and unknown pages of Resistance movement and heroism in ghettos and concentration camps. Session on informal Jewish education as a part of museums’ activities is also included in the program.
