The Department of Political Science and Public Management at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense offers a number of PhD scholarships as of September 1, 2013 or as agreed. The fellowship carries a 45,000 euros yearly salary (5+3) plus office facilities and financial support for conference travels and overseas research visits.
These positions are available from October 1st 2013 for three years (subject to satisfactory progress reviews after 12 and 24 months).
The DAAD-funded International PhD Program Transnational at the Faculty of Social Sciences is now accepting applications for the winter term 2013. The program offers a structured, three-year period of research at a high academic level to graduates of sociology, political science, and anthropology. PhD candidates will profit from an intellectually stimulating and supporting infrastructure that includes special counseling, intense academic supervision, and participation in the “Forum Transnational” with international visiting scholars as well as methods and theory workshops tailored to the needs of the participants. In addition, doctoral candidates will receive support in applying for scholarships and in career planning. Special funding is available for research periods abroad and networking with other PhD candidates in independent doctoral working groups (DocAGs).
Giessen University’s International PhD Programme „Literary and Cultural Studies“ (IPP) offers a three-year, structured PhD-programme in the study of literature and culture. With its excellent research environment, a doctoral programme which is tailored to the needs of PhD students and the intensive personal support it provides, the IPP offers doctoral researchers optimum conditions for their PhD-projects and custom-made preparation for the time thereafter, both with regard to academic and non-academic careers.
The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne awards 8 scholarships for doctoral students in the Social and Economic Sciences (Sociology, Political Science, Social Policy, Economics and Social and Economic Psychology). Good proficiency in statistics and multivariate data analysis is expected. The research interest should be in line with the research promoted at SOCLIFE. Selected students will be funded for up to 3 years beginning October 1, 2013 (monthly tax-free stipend of 1468 € and family benefits).

The Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is designed for a woman journalist working in print, broadcast or digital news media to spend seven months in a tailored program that combines access to MIT’s Center for International Studies and media outlets including The Boston Globe and The New York Times.
